Flåklypa Days 2026 is 10 days packed with events in Alvdal
The whole village joins forces to offer a wide-ranging programme of experiences, shopping, parades, walks, tournaments, workshops, parties, game nights, dinners, soapbox races and cheese races.
On the first weekend, we dust off the 1920 Harley Davidson and Solan heads into the village.
There, Solan, Ludvig, Emanuel and Reodor meet the parade march from the major gymnastics festival taking place in the village at the same time, and they also swing by the free breakfast at Steia, the centre of Alvdal.
At Steia there is market day, a duck race, a pram and tractor parade, and of course Bygdedyret Bakeri is opening, you know!
And there is a free train running between Steia and Huset Aukrust, where there are Flåklypa activities and a moon rocket.
Steijela Grand Prix
The big Soapbox Race takes place on the first Saturday. There, you can see drivers of all ages and vehicles of every possible kind speeding down Steijela.
Just beforehand, Il Tempo Mopedo Presisjono is also held – a moped race with precision riding.
And the day after, you can take part in Solan Gundersen's cycling course for the daring, or Ludvig's cycling course for beginners.
3-course meal in Flåklypa style
Especially popular last year was the Flåklypa 3-course meal at Huset Aukrust.
When Per Samuelshaug from the ski village of Alvdal won the 50 km race at Holmenkollen, the village rallied together for a true three-course meal. And when Flåklypa Grand Prix was launched 50 years ago, the same was intended. As Kjell Aukrust says: “If you have meatballs, creamed cabbage and polenta pudding, then it’s a real three-course meal!”

The Great Cheese Race
Emanuel Desperados hands out the cheese to the participants. It must be transported around the village from Synnøve Finden's Damp Creamery through many different challenges, such as the loose algae.
In the evening, there is a campfire, a troubadour and cooking competitions at Huset Aukrust. And the next day it's back at it again with more challenges, before the winning team crosses the finish line in the moon rocket La Pollo XIII and is to shoot the cheese to the moon! When the cheese comes back down, it is grilled on Reodor's bicycle grill!

Departure from Steia at 10.30. From here by car to Hanestad, a little over an hour by car. Nice trail from the road, an hour's walk on a good path up to the summit. The view from here is fantastic, and you really feel like you are in the mountains. Signs and marker tape will be put out, and we will enjoy our packed lunches. The same way back to the car, and then we head home. We hope for a wonderful day at Hanestad Vesfjell. The event is part of the Flåklypa Days in Alvdal. 11:00 - 14:00 Langodden farm - 30th anniversary of the Cycle Path in Øikletten by Alvdal Hiking Association
The old route between Langodden and southward to Bellingmo and all the way down to Barkald. We restored the road 30 years ago after NSB had covered much of it with fill back in the day. There is still a need for maintenance, and we have carried out several improvements over the past year.
We are celebrating the anniversary with refreshments outdoors at Langodden Gard from 12:00 to 14:00, and we hope many will make the trip
