This year, the grand Bottle Flying Race in Alvdal will take place from the NATIONAL ARENA Il Trampolino delle Bottigle di Alvdal, during Solan Gundersen's Winter Games.
Madam Ski President Tove Moe Dyrhaug has approved Solan's application to classify the hill as a national arena – and this year Solan warmly welcomes everyone to his venue!
Madam Ski President has also been invited to participate.
Anyone can sign up with their own glass bottle! Special bottles are especially welcome – anything from paraffin bottles and cod-liver oil bottles to the pharmacy's or wine monopoly's various bottles for fine drinks can be used here. Search cellars and attic storerooms – perhaps you will find just the bottle that leads to the longest jump and the highest style score at home! Or at Grandma's ….
Plastic bottles are unsuitable due to their lack of weight.
But the bottles that may be used must not be filled with liquid - only the bottle itself is permitted for high-flying activities in the national arena!
Registration takes place at the start. Cheer squads are allowed and required. All participants receive Solan's diploma, and prizes will be awarded in all classes determined by the judges.
Reodor Felgen has brought out his specially made potato grill for the occasion – and this year hot sausages and hot broth will be sold from that contraption!
