When nine-year-old Mari wakes up one night and discovers an elf in her bedroom, it marks the start of a Christmas adventure like no other. With a forgotten elf mitten as their only clue, she, her grandmother and a very sceptical dad set off on an extraordinary journey to find Santa Claus, while the mitten's owner, Santa's little helper Stompen, does everything he can to stop them. Santa's workshop must not be discovered - that would be a catastrophe! Their journey takes them through forests, moorland and beautiful winter landscapes. But there are plenty of challenges too - they must also get past the forest's guardian, Kjerringa med staven, and battle their way through a terrible snowstorm. The journey is not just exciting - it also opens the family's eyes to one another, and they finally realise what the true magic of Christmas is.
Get ready for this year's Christmas film for the whole family, packed with Christmas spirit and beloved Thorbjørn Egner songs such as Kaptein Sorte Bill, Dyrene i Afrika and Det snør det snør – performed by some of the country's leading artists, including Sissel Kyrkjebø.
