ODD KARSTEN TVEIT has covered the Middle East conflict throughout his journalistic career. He has been an NRK correspondent there during several periods and has written a long series of award-winning books about the region. With his extensive knowledge and rich range of sources, he is an international authority on the modern history of the Middle East and the political significance and repercussions of the conflict.

Palestina. Israels ran, vårt svik is the big story of the years from 1948, when Israel appeared on the map, up to the present day.
The book offers new knowledge and revealing accounts of Israel's occupation and colonization of Palestine. It is divided into eight historical epochs, with the first four taking us up to the war in Gaza in 2009, while the last four are devoted to the period 2009–2023.
The book contains many new revelations thanks to Tveit's unique interviews with researchers and journalists – many of them Israelis. Tveit has also met Israeli officers, diplomats, politicians, and human rights activists. Through his years as a journalist, Tveit has built up a library of his own contemporary notes. More than in his previous books, we encounter here a narrator who dares more, and who is relentless in his review of Norwegian and Western inaction in the conflict.
