Unfortunately, two of the singers have fallen ill, so the ensemble is unfortunately unable to stage Operapub ’n.

We are very sorry. I understand that you had been looking forward to it as much as we had, but illness is beyond anyone’s control.

Operapub and dinner on 20 May are hereby cancelled.

However, we will try to find a new date this autumn, and will let you know when there is another opportunity.

On Saturday 20 May, we will round off our focus on Kjell’s Italian period with a captivating Operapub featuring some of the country’s finest performers. You will get to experience professional musicians and singers from across the country, all looking forward to adding flavour to Operapub’n in combination with an excellent Italian menu made with ingredients from Østerdalen. Kjell Aukrust was exceptionally fond of Italy – and this evening we will get to taste and sense the Italian atmosphere!

Knut Stiklestad (bass), Hallvar Djupvik (tenor), Mette Bjørang Pedersen (mezzo-soprano), Gunda-Marie Bruce (soprano) and Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos (pianist) will add spice to the evening before and after each course of the Italian menu that Chef Ståle Måntrøen has created for the occasion.

The menu consists of:‍

Welcome drink with and without alcohol
Bruschetta w/tomato, basil and olive oil
Creamy chanterelle soup w/crispy Parma ham
Reindeer carpaccio w/parmesan and pine nuts
Porchetta w/port wine sauce and baked Alvdalsmandel potatoes
Tiramisu w/Disaronno liqueur

This year, we are offering a combined package price for dinner and concert at NOK 945.
If you only want the concert, it costs NOK 395, and the menu price per person is NOK 595.
We are also arranging a bus from Alvdal to Tynset at NOK 50 per person return.

About our singers and musicians:

Knut Stiklestad

Our own bass, who lives in Alvdal and grew up in Sul in Verdal. He has performed on opera stages in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, at the Norwegian National Opera, as well as on most of Norway’s regional opera stages.

Has worked with directors such as Stein Winge, Bentein Baardson, Wouter van Looy, Ronald Rørvik and others.

Concerts in, among other places, Belgium, Latvia, Serbia, Sweden and Iceland. In a production of Debussy`s Pelleas og Melisande in Belgium, Knut was the only Norwegian singer in an international team. He has sung with several symphony orchestras in Norway and Sweden. Knut also works to some extent as a director, and has staged, among other things, the opera Thora at Rimol, Fiddler on the Roof, The Jungle Book, in addition to various outdoor productions, and has a number of CD recordings: Songs by Knut Hamsun and Marcus Paus, a CD with music by Paul Okkenhaug, Religious folk tunes from Trøndelag. Peer Gynt - recording with the Malmö Symphony Orchestra.

Most recently, Requiem, (text by Ole Paus), Læreren and Trisyn, all with music by Marcus Paus, have been released.

Hallvar Djupvik

is a Norwegian tenor, ballad singer and multi-instrumentalist from Tomrefjord in Møre og Romsdal. He studied at the music conservatory in Kristiansand and at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, and he was employed in the Opera Choir. He has performed roles such as Alfredo in La Traviata, Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Eumete in Ulysses vender hjem and José in Carmen.

Djupvik plays several instruments and has taken part in bands and projects in various styles over the years.

Mette Bjørang

Is an opera singer from Bodø, Norway. She trained at the Opera Academy in Oslo and made her debut at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in 2013 as Alm in the world premiere of Knut Vaage’s opera "Khairos". At DNO&B, Mette has sung several roles, including in the children’s opera “Funiculi&Funicula", which won an Opera Award in the Accessibility category in 2015. Mette is engaged as a soloist throughout the Nordic region in church works and contemporary music. She made her Finnish debut in 2015 with Mozart’s Mass in C minor. That same summer, she sang Beatrice in the Swedish premiere of Berlioz’s "Beatrice och Benecit". She has sung several lieder concerts at DNO&B, and in addition she has performed for several consecutive years at the Kirsten Flagstad Festival in Norway. Due to कोरोना, unfortunately her debut as Leonore in Beethoven’s Fidelio in Canada was cancelled last season. In the coming season, she will, among other things, sing Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with Copenhagen Soloists, in addition to several lieder concerts in Denmark and Sweden.

Gunda Marie Bruce

Gunda-Marie Bruce received her education at the Barratt Due Institute of Music, the Operahögskolan in Stockholm, and the Norwegian Academy of Music. She has received a number of scholarships and awards in recognition of her splendid voice. Among other honors, she was awarded the prestigious opera singer prize from the Anders Wall Foundation in Stockholm. Gunda-Marie was appointed a scholarship holder at the Drottningholm Palace Theatre following her interpretation of the role of Arminda in Mozart’s opera La finta di giardiniera.

In recent years, Gunda-Marie has sung in a number of opera productions. Her roles have included Mrs. Ford in Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème, Leila in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, Adina in Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, Hanna Glawari in Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Nedda in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Agathe in Weber’s Der Freischütz, and Musetta in La bohème, first at RingsakerOperaen and then at the Spira Culture Centre in Sweden.

Gunda-Marie is a sought-after concert singer and appears regularly as a soprano soloist in various oratorios and as a soloist with different choirs, bands, and orchestras. She is often engaged as a soloist for various festive events and has had a number of engagements in Asia. Gunda-Marie is represented by the opera agency On Stage Artist Management in Copenhagen.

Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos

is a pianist and has always been fascinated by instruments and the wonderful way different genres can be combined into new musical expressions. Stefan grew up in a musical family with a Norwegian father and a Greek mother who had a brilliant career as a singer, and he was introduced early to accompaniment and collaboration with the human voice. He earned a master’s degree in performance music with a specialization in classical piano from the Norwegian Academy of Music (NMH), studying under Liv Glaser and Einar Henning Smebye. He was also an exchange student at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin under Galina Hillenhagen Iwansowa, where he also found inspiration in the classical German piano composers. Stefan has studied jazz with Ole Henrik Gjørtz and Freddy Hoel Nilsen. His extensive performance history has taken him to places such as Greece, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Germany, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Sweden, and all across Norway, including Svalbard. As a soloist, Stefan has performed with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the Follo Chamber Orchestra, among others. In autumn 2016, he released his own solo album, «Preludium», on Bech&Shai. Starting in 2011, Alexander Rybak began a musical collaboration with Stefan, in which Stefan has served as Rybak’s regular pianist in Norway and abroad.
